Thorn Medicine:

A journey with Hawthorn and SoulCollage® for times of transition

Autumn 2026

Nature immersion meets creative studio

A supportive circle for reflection and grief tending through nature connection and creative practice.

In this program, we turn to Hawthorn and SoulCollage® as guides. Hawthorn trees share their heart medicine in the living landscape, and the art practice of SoulCollage® offers a way to give form to what lives within us. Together, they provide a nourishing space for reflection, expression, and meaning-making in times of change and grief. Here, we honor and explore what is emerging in our lives. No art experience necessary.

Since ancient times, people have trusted the Hawthorn tree as a medicine for heartache and to support stress and overwhelm. Together, we spend time outdoors where Hawthorn grows— in the forest, near the bog, and at the mouth of a spring-fed well—attuning to their presence and teachings, and listening to the stories carried through folklore and mythology. We then turn to creative process to explore, reflect and process our experiences. Using the art method SoulCollage®, participants are guided in making intuitive collage cards— much like tarot or oracle cards. Cards may represent your inner parts, community members, important archetypes or symbols, plants, pets etc., which can be used in readings and consulted for personal questions. Each session includes time to create cards, which together form a deeply personal deck that will stay with you long after this group ends.
